Picture Day

It was School Picture Day! You should have seen Catherine, moving and posing like she was being shot for the cover of Vogue. HA! The camera man almost couldn't keep up with her!! He probably took 50+ pictures of that child, while the rest of the class stood watching her like they were on a field trip to see her. smh.

When I picked her up from school, a few things about her appearance were different....

1) Curls had begun to fall out of the hair I worked so hard to straighten and curl that morning. eh. I knew it would happen. But there was something beautifully wild about her hair now....

2) I sent her to school with leggings and play shoes that she now donned. (I knew the cream tights from earlier would be more of a "mud" shade by the time I picked her up if she left them on all day; Her school is REALLY big on the kids playing outside several times a day. Hence, the playtime battle scars down my son's smelling apparatus. *sigh*)

3) Catherine made herself a crown. Yes, when I picked her up, placed upon that beautifully wild hair was a crown made of pipe cleaners and beads and that fit her royally. It even coordinated with the picture day clothes + play clothes ensemble. Leave it to Catherine to make a crown that color coordinates with her outfit. lol. I love it.

Though I do adore dressing my little ones in fabulous clothes, the clothes weren't as much of a consideration today. It was more so about them - the way they looked and breathed after a day of school and play...and me wanting to forever remember it.

So, what's a photographer/kids' fashion stylist/madly in love with her children momma to do???

Take pictures, of course!!!

(...I had some fun with effects, which can make it tricky to really experience the individual pictures when looking at them in rapid sequence all on the same page. I advise taking it slow & looking at each picture individually to really enjoy them. You know, kind of like you do when you eat chocolate...or is that just me? heehee)
